Joan M. Ziebarth, age 78, of Glencoe, died Friday, Aug., 12, 2016, after a long illness.
Joan lived in Glencoe most of her life, and attended Glencoe High School.
She later moved to Minneapolis with her husband, Mel, and worked for many years at the Federal Reserve System as a supervisor.
Prior to her many illnesses, Joan was a wonderful mother and wife.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Bernard Ziebarth; their children: Jane (Mike Mecklenburg) Overby, Darin (Kari) Ziebarth, and Eric (Sehri) Strom; sisters Marietta (John) Steck, Joyce (Del) Graunke, Violet (Larry) Plonty, Lillian (Dave) Selnes, John Shovelin, Wayne (Julia) Shovelin, Diana (Jerry) Boland, David Shovelin, and Ruth Ann (Douglas) Richter; and other relatives and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lena and Frank Shovelin; her sister, Rosemary McEachran; and by her brother-in-law, Kenneth Ziebarth.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, with Father Paul Schumacher as the celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
There was visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church, prior to the Mass.
