Betty Lou Cederstrom, 96

Betty Lou Cederstrom, age 96, of Watertown, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Hallett Cottages in Crosby.

She was born July 5, 1920, in Scandia, the daughter of Henry and Ida (Johnson) Hall. Betty Lou was baptized and confirmed at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City.

She was united in marriage to Harley Cederstrom Sept. 28, 1946, at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City.

Betty Lou was a very loving woman; taking care of her family was her priority. On the farm, she helped raise the chickens, sell the eggs, and feed the calves.

Some of the activities she enjoyed were embroidery, singing in the church choir, and playing cards with the seniors in Watertown. Harley and Betty Lou also enjoyed many trips throughout their lifetime.

Betty Lou thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia for 14 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley; parents Henry and Ida Hall; son-in-law Roger Sandgren; brothers Wallace and Quentin Hall; and sisters Helen Holt and Bernice Medin.

Betty Lou is survived by her loving family: daughters Beverly Sandgren of Lindstrom, Joyce (Marvin) Nelson of Richmond, Carole (Mike) Pierson of Watertown, and Diane (A.J.) LeBlanc of Brainerd; grandchildren Steig (Molly) Sandgren, Charlotte (Tim) Borders, James (Kristi) Nelson, Jennifer (Mike) Malmon, Stacy Nelson, Brian (Jenny) Pierson, Bradley Pierson, Nicholas Pierson, Marie (Ben) Bedard, Sonja (Parker) Schlenk, and Andrew LeBlanc; and great-grandchildren Oskar, Bente, Wyatt, Lacey, Nick, Tyler, Grace, Dylan, Chad, Kaeley, Gavin, Mason, Rachelle, Alex, Bennett, Veah, and Brynlee.

She is further survived by a brother-in-law, Roger (Laurel) Medin of Forest Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Her funeral service took place Saturday, July 1 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Jeffrey Engholm officiating. There was visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.; Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Watertown.

Betty Lou’s grandchildren served as casket bearers.
