Margaret Corr Obituary – 12/8/2017


Margaret “Maggie” Corr, age 67, of Annandale, passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at her home.

She was born May 18, 1950, and grew up in Elk River, with her parents Walter (Mag) and Irene Johnson.

Margaret was joined in holy marriage with Patrick Corr May 18, 1979, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with two children.

Patrick lost his battle with cancer in May 2016, and Maggie missed him so very deeply.

Maggie spent her life caring for those around her. She brought endless joy to everyone she met.

After receiving her nursing degree, she spent the majority of her career advocating for people with developmental disabilities. She had such a strong passion for helping people with special needs.

Maggie was dedicated to her family and work, and had a special place in her heart for Autism Awareness.

She is survived by her children, Sam (Kelly) Corr of Fargo, and Molly (John) Borell of Annandale; grandchildren Brighé, Caitlinn, Abaigael and Michael, and Clara and June; brother Phil (Teri) Johnson of Elk River; and countless other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Patrick, Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Irene Johnson; and a niece, Amber.

A memorial service took place Thursday, Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, with internment at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Father Paul Schumacher was the celebrant.

There was visitation Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m.

Memorials may be designated to Autism Allies; a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with autism and their families by providing support, education and awareness, helping them to reach their fullest potential.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
