Gladys Florence (Greenhagen) Doering, born March 31, 1927, to Henry and Hilda Greenhagen, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Nursing Home Monday October 2.
Gladys was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She worked many years at Tonka Toys in Mound and after retiring, worked part time at Astro Mailers in Howard Lake.
Gladys was married in May of 1947 to Stanley Anderson, where they resided in Cokato on the Anderson family farm and had one daughter, Barb.
Glady was re-married in May 1953 to Irving Doering. They had two sons, Wayne and Dale, where they resided in Woodland Township on the Doering farm; they moved to their home on the lake in Howard Lake in 1966.
She loved her many gambling trips; spending her nickels and pennies. She also loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren; making them cheese macaroni and wieners for supper and CoCo Wheats for breakfast.
She also enjoyed her free time sitting in her chair, listening to music, reading books, and playing Solitaire.
Gladys was preceded in death by: her husbands, Stanley Anderson and Irving Doering; her parents, Henry and Hilda Greenhagen; her brothers, Arnie, Alford, Vern, Willie, Dwayne, and Rollie Greenhagen; her sister, Dorothy (Greenhagen) Schostag; and her granddaughter, Shannon Lorence.
Gladys is survived by: her children, Barb (Dan) Lorence of Demming, New Mexico; Wayne (Mary) Doering of Cokato; and Dale (Jill) Doering of Waverly; her sisters, Elaine Nelson and Vernice Bersie, her grandchildren, Eric (Naomi) Lorence, Jessie (Joe) Keating, Sarah (Junior) Geislinger, Josh Doering, Nikki (Mike) Anderla, Joe Doering, Patsy Doering, and Frank Doering; her 20 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gladys will be greatly missed, but was ready to go Home.
Funeral Service for Gladys Doering is set for 1 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. James Lutheran Church of Howard Lake.
Visitation: begins at 11 a.m. at Church on Friday.
Interment will be at the Woodland Township Cemetery, South of Waverly.
