Lorraine M. Felt Obituary – 11/11/2017


Lorraine Mathilda Ida Felt, age 88, of Watertown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Auburn Home in Waconia.

Her funeral service will be Monday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church (3030 Navajo Avenue) in Watertown, with interment in the church cemetery.

There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Serving as casket bearers will be Sue Wessbecker, Linda Boettcher, Bruce Boettcher, Lori Murphy, and Jenny Maetzold.

Lorraine was born March 11, 1929, in Young America Township, the daughter of John and Martha (Graunke) Zellmann. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Young America, and later confirmed her faith at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Watertown.

Lorraine was united in marriage with Raymond Felt Oct. 5, 1958, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, with the Rev. L.M. Wetzel as officiant. This union was blessed with a son, Alan Felt.

Lorraine was a devoted farm wife and homemaker. She enjoyed working alongside her husband on their property in rural Watertown.

Upon retirement, the couple moved to a home in Watertown.

Lorraine suffered the death of her husband of 47 years in August 2006.

Lorraine enjoyed participating in the Watertown Senior Citizens, playing bingo, gardening, crafting, and sewing.

She was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, and would volunteer whenever asked.

Lorraine also enjoyed spending time with her son, Alan, and visiting with family and friends.

She will be remembered for her smiling and pleasant personality. Lorraine’s positive nature made an impression on everyone.

In addition to her husband, Raymond Felt, Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Zellmann; a brother, Clarence Zellmann; father-in-law and mother-in-law Albert and Anna Felt; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Merlyn Boettcher, Alvin Felt, Oscar and Ruby Felt, Myrtle and Gilbert Schilling, Clarence and Pearl Felt, and Margie and Rollin Pierce.

She is survived by her loving family, son Alan Felt of Chaska; sister Florence Boettcher of Mayer; sister-in-law Marjorie Felt of Watertown; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
