Bryan Goetsch, 73

Bryan Ervin Goetsch, age 73, of Dassel, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Hutchinson Health Hospital.

He was born Feb. 28, 1944, in Ortonville, the son of Ervin and Delores (Kohls) Goetsch. Bryan was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville.

He received his education in Nassau, MN.

Bryan was united in marriage to Marge Hopkins Sept. 5, 1964, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville. This marriage was blessed with two children, Lori and Machele.

Bryan and Marge resided in Dassel, and shared 53 years of marriage together.

Bryan was employed at Hutchinson Manufacturing as a welder for 35 years. He then worked as a janitor at the Cokato Elementary School until he retired in 2002, which he enjoyed very much. He also enjoyed farming for many years.

Bryan was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel.

He enjoyed stock car racing, listening to music, and playing computer games. Bryan was also an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed pheasant, goose, and deer hunting; and fishing. He always had a golden Lab dog for hunting.

Bryan also liked playing the dice game, Ten Thousand with his wife and grandkids, and watching his grandkids play in their sports. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, friends, and extended racing family. RV camping was enjoyed by Bryan and Marge for many years.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Marge Goetsch of Dassel; children, Lori Morris (David) of Cokato, and Machele Goetsch (Marty Bush Jr.) of Litchfield; grandchildren Ryan, Devin, Zach, and Blake; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Delores Goetsch; a sister, Gayle Mielitz; and a brother-in-law, Laverne Mielitz.

His funeral service was Friday, May 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, with interment at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville. The Rev. Carolyn Pflibsen officiated, and Russ Moore was the soloist.

There was visitation at the funeral chapel one hour prior to the service.

Honorary casket bearers were David Morris, Zach Morris, Blake Morris, Ryan Zitzloff and Devin Zitzloff.

Casket bearers were Gary Rotzien, Kurty Kurtzweg, Jamie Lemke, Paul Schreiner, Arlen Giese, and Mark Byers.

Arrangements are with the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel of Hutchinson.
