Nancy Marie Howk, age 64, of Litchfield, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at home on the family farm in rural Litchfield.
She was born May 13, 1952, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Lowell and Muriel (Peipus) Howk. Nancy graduated from Litchfield High School in 1970, and spent all her life in the Meeker and McLeod counties area.
Nancy worked in manufacturing at 3M, HTI, IRD and Better Half Embroidery and Intensity Signs.
She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin, and enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, watching auto racing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Nancy is survived by her children, Chad (Brenda) Johanneck of Glencoe, Roxanne McLain, and Kyle (Emily) Joramo, all of Litchfield; five grandchildren: Nathan (Alicia) Johanneck, Stephanie (Joel) Urdahl, Caleb McLain, Tessa Johanneck, and Noah Joramo; and seven great-grandchildren: Carson, Carter, Annabella and Adelynn Johanneck, and Kyra, Brylee and Devyn Urdahl.
She is further survived by a brother, Richard (Marilyn) Howk of Dassel; sister Lynette Howk of Darwin; and beloved friend Floyd Joramo.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Muriel Howk; grandparents Henry and Sarah Peipus and Edgar and Grace Howk; and a niece, Rachel Howk.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. John in Darwin.
There was visitation Monday, Jan. 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service; and continuing Tuesday, at the church, one hour prior to the service.
