Cheryl L. Krueger, 60

Cheryl Leone Krueger, age 60, of Dassel, died, Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at her home.

She was born May 1, 1957, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Alexander and Elaine (Norby) Grot. Cheryl grew up in the St. Louis Park area, and graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1975.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith, and was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel at the time of her death.

Cheryl was united in marriage to Darryl Krueger Aug. 21, 1976, at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park. The couple made their home on the shores of Lake Arvilla, near Dassel for the past 40 years.

A hard worker, Cheryl had been employed at American Time and Signal, and was an inventory specialist at Crest Healthcare. She also spent a couple years working at Cowgirl Tuff Co. as a customer service rep., but her favorite passion was as a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Cheryl was full of life. She was kind, graceful, loving, determined, and a fighter. Cheryl spent many hours fishing on Lake Arvilla, and enjoyed just sitting by the lake. She loved board games and could often be found shaking dice in a good game of Yahtzee.

She enjoyed traveling to Florida and seeing the sights and experiencing Walt Disney World with her children and grandchildren. For the past seven years, the family has spent time at the Rainbow Resort in Waubun, MN.

A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Cheryl took great care of her family and was always willing to lend a hand wherever she was needed. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s events. Be it a dance recital or a hockey game, she enjoyed them all. Cheryl will be missed by her family and her friends.

She is survived by her husband, Darryl Krueger of Dassel; two sons, Alan (Rebecca) Krueger of Farmington, and Kevin Krueger of Dassel; three grandchildren, Brian Krueger, Brooklynn Krueger, and Dawson Krueger; and a brother, Ray (Jean) Grot of Sauk Rapids.

Cheryl was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Alexander Krueger; and her parents, Alexander and Elaine Grot.

A memorial service took place Thursday, Nov. 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with the Rev. Laurie O’Shea officiating. Interment of the urn will take place on a later date at the Lake Arvilla Cemetery in rural Dassel.

There was a time to gather with the family Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel, and an hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel handled the arrangements.
