Daniel James Anthony Lekander, age 74, of Kingston Township, died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at his home.
A memorial service will take place Thursday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at Ostmark Lutheran Church in Watkins, with the Rev. Joe Midthun officiating.
Neil Knickerbocker, Scott Waataja, Keith Westrup and Lee Norgren will be the urn bearers. Interment will follow at Kingston Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery.
There will be visitation Wednesday, July 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and Thursday at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Daniel was born Jan. 27, 1943, in Minneapolis, to James and Elma (Luoma) Lekander. He was baptized in Minneapolis, and confirmed at Kingston Apostolic Lutheran Church in Kingston.
Daniel grew up in Kingston, and graduated from Kimball High School with the class of 1961.
He served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Danny worked as a truck driver, road grader, farm hand, and as a heavy equipment mechanic.
He was great at cooking, baking, gardening, and sewing.
Danny enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, refurbishing saddles, and watching his favorite daytime TV shows. He had a love for people and the conversations he had with them.
Daniel is survived by his son, Lukus Lekander of Kingston; sisters Grace (Lloyd) Norgren of Annandale, Sandra (George) Weers of Marietta, GA, and Jane Westrup of South Haven; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Glendale Lekander; and sisters Annabell Huro, Donna Knickerbocker, Jeanette Lekander, and Ruth Waataja.
