David Emil Nelson, age 73, of Minneapolis, passed peacefully Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Cokato Manor, with wife, Mary Etta holding him close.
David was raised on a farm in South Haven, attending Happy Corner Country School and Cokato High School, graduating in 1961.
After serving in the Air Force, David attended Northwestern Technical Institute, graduating as an electronics technician.
He was a kind and loving man who enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Winston and CoCo; and was a long-time member of AA.
David is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Etta; brother Jim (Colleen) Nelson of Cokato; nephew Tom Nelson (Elizabeth) of Dassel; as well as many nieces and nephews in his wife’s family, many brothers/sisters-in-law; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Emil Nelson.
A funeral Mass took place Saturday, April 1 at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Community in Minneapolis, with burial at 3 p.m. in Cokato.
