Verna Lorraine Pilarski, age 95, of Silver Lake, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2017, at Cedar Crest of Silver Lake.
Verna was born April 4, 1922, in Cokato, to Alfred and Mabel (Bodien) Brask.
She was very active in Holy Family Catholic Church including as a member of the CCW.
Verna was a Mom to many when she lived on the farm.
She was a great seamstress to the communities of Winsted and Silver Lake, where she sewed many wedding party dresses.
Verna was a woman who accepted everyone without judgment. She also was a wonderful cook and baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley; brothers, Gordon and Ervin; and sister, Dorothy.
Verna is survived by her daughter, Renee (Carl) Mead; grandson, Tony Poshek; and sisters, Beverly (Emmett) Oien, Helen (Donald) Barns, Virginia (Duncan) McTavish and Natalie Holt.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, with visitation from 9 to 11 am. at the church, prior to the Mass. Interment was at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Silver Lake.
