Marian C. Schulze, 73

Marian Carol Schulze, age 73, of Stewart, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at her home.

She was born Dec. 29, 1944, in Chicago, IL, the only child of Sylvester and Lillian (Babinski) Kalish. Marian was baptized in January of 1945 at St. Collete Church in Rolling Meadows, IL; and was confirmed in her faith there April 12, 1955.

Marian attended the Arlington Heights, IL, School, and graduated with the class of 1963.

At sunrise July 1, 1989, Marian was united in marriage to James Schulze at home on the family farm in Grafton Township, Sibley County. They resided on the farm throughout their marriage.

Marian was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart.

She enjoyed watching movies; and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Marian is survived by her husband, James Schulze of Stewart; children: James Broucek and his wife, Shinobu, of Rolling Meadows, IL, Thomas Broucek and his wife, Kelly, of Wood Dale, IL, David Broucek and his wife, Laura, of Palatine, IL, Susan Brodersen and her husband, John, of Rolling Meadows, IL, and Daniel Broucek and his wife, Gina, of Stewart; daughter-in-law Diane Broucek of Glendale Heights, IL; step-children: Travis Schulze and his wife, Dani, of Maple Grove, MN, and Sarah Kelly and her husband, Lee, of Kimball, MN; grandchildren: Amber Broucek, Alexcis Broucek, Nikki Broucek, Dylan Broucek, Adam Brodersen, Gavin Broucek, Olivia Brodersen, Brandon Broucek, and Dawson Broucek; step-grandchildren: Kaley Russell-Schulze, Jonathon Doran, Teagan Kelly, Annika Kelly, Patterson Kelly, and Jamison Kelly; and other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Lillian Kalish; a son, Robert Broucek; and step-son Jonathon Schulze.

Marian’s funeral service took place Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart, with Pastor Mahlon Bekedam officiating. Bev Wangerin was the organist. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Casket bearers were Jim Broucek, Tom Broucek, Dave Broucek, Dan Broucek, Susan Brodersen, and Dylan Broucek.

Honorary casket bearers were Amber Broucek, Alexcis Broucek, Nikki Broucek, Gavin Broucek, and Adam Brodersen.
