Glen C. Yager Obituary – 5/11/2017

Glen Carl Yager, age 76, of Waverly, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 11, 2017.

He was born Feb. 12, 1941, to Walter and Fern (Wolfsteller) Yager, on the family farm in Waverly.

Glen was a loving husband, devoted father of three boys, and adoring grandfather of three girls. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with his family and friends, farming, and talking about events and the weather.

Glen’s greatest attributes were his huge heart, his love of life, and his uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He truly loved, and was loved by, his family and friends; and will be sorely missed.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; brothers-in-law Leo Kulinski, Victor Erickson, Jerome Kittock, and Conrad Hausladen; and sisters-in-law Betty Kittock and Doris Outley.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Julie) Yager, Tim (Wendy) Yager, and Dan (Amy) Yager; grandchildren Amanda, Morgan, and Mallory Yager; brothers Ted Yager and Dave Yager; sisters Violet Erickson, and Donna (Gervase) Kappel; brothers-in-law Kenneth (Beatrice), Clarence, Robert (Mary Ann), Emmett (Jane), Arnold (Linda), Jim Outley and Larry Hausladen; sisters- in-law Ann (John) Dalheimer, Susan (Duayne) Heimerl, and Sue Hausladen; and many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Kenneth O’Hotto, took place Tuesday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. There was visitation at church Monday, May 15 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m.; and continuing Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waverly.
