Edward Boehlke, Jr., 71

Edward E. Boehlke, Jr., age 71, of Waverly, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Buffalo Hospital.

He was born April 9, 1946, in St. Paul, the son of Edward and Anna (Cafferty) Boehlke Sr.

Edward graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1964.

He and Lorraine Ann Kulinski were joined in holy marriage Sept. 11, 1965, at St. George Catholic Church in Glencoe. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Ed and Lorraine were engaged in dairy farming in rural Waverly.

Ed was a loving, caring husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and working on the family farm.

He was a faithful member of The Church of St. Mary in Waverly, an Archer Lubricants dealer for over 40 years, and a GENEX delegate.

Ed formerly served on the Marysville Township Board, and the Wright County Planning and Zoning Board.

He enjoyed old time music and polka dancing.

Ed is survived by his loving children: Pamela (Duane) Koenen of Alden, Paula (Barry) Fritzke of Watertown, Ronald Boehlke (fiancée Stephanie Fern) of Waverly, Lori (Richard) Smith of Silver Lake, DeeAnn (Kevin) Christ of Minnetrista, and Edward Boehlke III of Waverly; loving grandchildren: Kayla, Cody (Madalyn) and Tyler; Matt and Katie; Landan and Aby; Jaden and Kylee; and Bailey and Nicholas; and great-grandchildren Oliver Edward; and Atticus and Scout.

He is further survived by brothers and sisters: RoseAnn (Andy Fischer) Boehlke, Elroy Boehlke, Everett (Tammy) Boehlke, Elwin (Becky) Boehlke, Lois Nichols, JoAnn (Jonathan) Dimino, and Eugene (Rita) Boehlke Sr. ; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Marie (Clifford) Ruzicka Jr., Marcie Ernhart, Gerald (Jan) Kulinski, James Kulinski, Sharon (Ray) Bandas, Karen Kulinski, and Violet Erickson; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Feb. 6, 2004; his parents, Edward Sr. and Anna Boehlke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo Sr. and Clara Kulinski; two infant brothers; brothers-in-law Ted Nichols, Edward Kulinski, Leo Kulinski Jr., and Robert Ernhart; and sisters-in-law Beatrice Kulinski, and Marlene Kulinski.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly with Father Kenneth O’Hotto as the celebrant. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

There was visitation at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted Friday, April 6 from 4 to 9 p.m., with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Visitation continued Saturday at the church from 9 to 10:15 a.m., prior to the Mass.

Casketbearers were Nic Workman, Ross Nichols, Adam Boehlke, Eric Boehlke, Eugene Boehlke Jr., and Dean Ruzicka.
