Tracy John Bogema (TJ), age 60, of Watertown, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 31, 2018, at his home.
He was born Nov. 7, 1957, in Minneapolis, to Delbert and Priscilla (Denike) Bogema.
TJ graduated from Watertown-Mayer High School in 1976.
After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until 1982, during which he received the AF Longevity Service Award, AF Outstanding Unit Award, and the AF Good Conduct Medal.
TJ married Deb Richter July 13, 1985, in Robbinsdale.
TJ was employed as an estimator at Versatil Associates in Chanhassen, a family business.
He enjoyed traveling across the country in his motorhome, as well as fishing and camping with his family. TJ had an interest in airplanes and loved to go watch them and share his knowledge of them. He also loved taking photos, and spending time with his grandchildren.
TJ is survived by his wife, Deb; and his six children: Jennifer and Jamie Jopp of Watertown, Jason and Monica Bogema of Mayer, Matt and Sarah Bogema of Winsted, Jessica and Jeremy Baumann of Delano, and Shaunna Kane, and Andrew Bogema, both of Watertown.
He is further survived by nine grandchildren: Makayla, Hailey, Jayden Bogema, Leslie Bogema, Olivia, Ella, Sophia, Tanner Baumann, and Austin Kane; brothers Todd and Jean Bogema, and Blake Bogema, all of Excelsior; a sister, Becky and Dave Hayden of Waconia; and several nieces and nephews.
TJ was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Priscilla Bogema; his brother, Steve Bogema; his parents-in-law, Donald and Gilma Richter; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Richter Jr., and Kevin Richter.
A celebration of TJ’s life took place Thursday, June 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at B’s on the River in Watertown, followed by a private family service.
Arrangements were with the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
