Beloved mother, Betty (Elizabeth) Dukhorn, age 95, of Winsted, died peacefully, surrounded by family, Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
A small memorial event will take place Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at St Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, with interment at a later date.
The daughter of Andrew and Katherine Riesinger, Betty was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Lefor, ND. She grew up on the prairies of North Dakota with nine siblings.
Betty completed the 8th grade (as was the custom then).
She married John Dukhorn July 20, 1943, and in the coming years proceeded to raise nine children.
She loved to bake, travel, play bingo, and go to the casino.
Betty is survived by her children, Daniel and Dwight Dukhorn of Winsted, Bill (Cindy) Dukhorn of Brooklyn Park, Alvina (SO Janeka) Dandurand, of Chisago City, John (Joy) Dukhorn, of Marcel, Marilyn (Mike) Webinger of Lakeville, and Andy Dukhorn of Independence, KY; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren, along with brothers Pete Riesinger of Laurel, MT, and Tony Riesinger of Sacramento, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John; children Douglas Dukhorn, and Jeanette Bayerl; granddaughter Julie Dukhorn; and siblings Mike, Fred, Frank, Leo, Richard, Joe, and sister Eva.
