Barbara Christine Friauf, age 74, of Winsted, and formerly of Minnetonka, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born Nov. 12, 1943, in Lester Prairie, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Dallmann) Friauf.
Barbara graduated from Lester Prairie High School, and the University of Minnesota.
She was a legal secretary and a teaching associate at the University of Minnesota. She was also a Spanish teacher at The International Institute of Minnesota.
Barbara had a passion for teaching Spanish, spending over three decades in the classroom. She felt it was very important to be given the opportunity to study a foreign language especially Spanish.
She had traveled and lived in Spain; and she loved cats and feeding the wild birds and wild life. Barbara also like to hike trails around Minnetonka.
Barbara is survived by cousins Walter C. Friauf of Safford, AZ, and Jean Nelson of Glendora, CA; and other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation took place Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted. Interment was at the Lester Prairie City Cemetery.
