A.J. Gillet, age 28, of Oconomowoc, WI, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018.

A celebration of his life will take place at Central Park in Delano, Saturday, Sept. 29 from noon to 2 p.m. Interment will take place at the Calvary Cemetery, east side of County Road 17, Delano, at 11:30 a.m., prior to the celebration of life.

A.J. was born Dec. 27, 1989, in Oconomowoc, WI, to Marc and Nicole (Chialiva) Gillet. He grew up in Minnetrista, MN.

A.J. enjoyed wrenching and riding anything with an engine from the age of 2.

He graduated from Wayzata High School in 2007, and worked at a variety of automotive service shops in Minnesota and Wisconsin; most recently, Milwaukee Motor Werks Specializing in European autos like BMWs.

Growing up, A.J. was involved in Cub Scouts, soccer, swimming, Tae Kwon Do, and go kart racing. His German shepherd dog, “Bud,” and a couple of cats were always by his side.

Later in life, there was usually a Busch Light in his hand, with a cat T-shirt worn to get people’s responses, as he would push comments/things to the limit.

A.J. was full of life and you felt his exuberance around him – it was hard not to at least smile, no matter what he said. A.J.’s old, reliable pastime was fishing, anytime of the year.

He is survived by his father and stepmom, Marc and Nancy Gillet; his brother, Jake; a grandmother of Oconomowoc, WI; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins from Wisconsin.

A.J. was preceded in death by his mother, Nicole; and his other grandparents.
