David Robert Jackson, age 77, of Winsted, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
He was born Jan. 5, 1941, in Hibbing, to Robert and Ruth Jackson.
Dave was a 1959 graduate of Crosby-Ironton High School.
He resided in the Brainerd Lakes area for 45 years, where he was a member of Lakewood Evangelical Free Church for 25 years, and served as a deacon for six years.
Dave was employed for 36 years at Potlatch Corp., in Brainerd.
He was a current member of Watertown Evangelical Free Church, and had a strong conviction to his faith in Christianity.
Dave’s favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, travel, and playing cards with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, of 39 years, Marlene (Gallant) Jackson; and his parents.
Dave married Carol Anne Carver Oct. 11, 2003.
In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by his sons, Bob (Tina) Jackson of Pillager, Jeremy (Kelly) Jackson of Eagan, and Jed (Karri Yezek) Jackson of Brainerd; step-daughter Lisa (Jim) Clark of Birchwood, WI; stepsons John, Jr. (Becky) Harwood of Mesa, AZ, Greg (Michelle) Harwood of Delano, and Chad (Heidi) Harwood of Watertown; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Dave is further survived by a sister, Betty Mathson (Dickers) of Coon Rapids; a brother, Charlie (Dianne) Jackson of Brainerd; and many friends and other family members.
Dave’s funeral service took place Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at Watertown Evangelical Free Church in Watertown, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment followed Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Brainerd.
