Betty Ann Lacey Obituary – 1/28/2018

Betty Ann Lacey, age 83, of Buffalo, passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018.

Her funeral service will take place Friday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, with visitation one hour prior to the services at the church.

The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo is serving the family.

Betty was born July 19, 1934, in Belmond, IA, the daughter of William and Alama (Rabe) Hoppel.

She was a very active and outgoing woman, and lived an extremely well-deserved and enjoyable 83 years, leaving her loved ones with 83 years’ worth of passionate memories.

Betty’s kind heart made sure her calendar was always full, whether it was traveling the country with her husband, relaxing while sewing, or keeping her mind at ease with the church community.

If you’re not convinced about the kind of compassionate person Betty was, ask one of her successful children, Pamala, Robert, Cheryl, or the second son, Ned; They will tell you about their Mom, the nurse or the project maker.

If your heart isn’t full yet, speak with one of Betty’s six rowdy grandchildren, Angela, Steven, Amanda (Clifford), David (Tanya), Ashley (Justin), or Grant; and they will tell you about the broken bones, the handmade quilts, and the trips with Grandma.

If you’re not laughing with knowledge of knowing Betty Lacey by now, maybe you need to ask one of Betty’s six sweet great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jackson, Mia, Hailey, Maci, or Sydnee what their GiGi was like in their eyes.

The blessing that was shared in knowing the gentle, caring, and thoughtful woman that was Betty does not make saying good-bye hurt less; however, it does provide peace knowing she is now able to dance again with her loving husband and soulmate, Bill.
