Clarence Paul Laxen, age 94, of Winsted, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at St. Mary’s Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, March 12 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Tony Stubeda will be the celebrant, and Alice Nowak will be the organist for the Mass. Urn bearer will be Diane Green. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
There will be visitation at the church, one hour prior to the Mass.

Clarence was born July 10, 1923, in Winsted, the son of Bernard and Helena (Quast) Laxen.
He was joined in holy marriage with Lidwina A. Fiecke July 5, 1944, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with four daughters.
Clarence was employed as a steamfitter at Sterner Industries in Winsted. He had a strong work ethic and a great sense of humor. Teasing his daughters and grandchildren was a favorite pastime.
Clarence and Lidwina spent 10 winters in south Texas. They loved to travel, and especially enjoyed spending time with their lifelong friends.
Clarence was a lifelong, faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lidwina Laxen; daughters Diane (Raymond) Green of Port Angeles, WA, Jane (Chuck) Rathmanner of Englewood, FL, Renee (Greg P. Lynch) Laxen of Tustin, CA, and Susan (Dennis) Zwaschka of Bloomington; six grandchildren: Scott Hesse, Laura Campbell, Matt Campbell, Christopher Quast, Tiffany Sheesley and Alex Zwaschka; and five great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by a sister, Hermina Zuk of Moose Lake; and other relatives and friends.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Leonard and Robert Laxen.
