Phillip Alan McGaw, age 30, of Dassel, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel, with the Revs. Darren Olson and Keith Carlson officiating.
There will be a time to gather with the family Friday, Sept. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church, and Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
Phillip was born Dec. 13, 1987, in St. Cloud, the son of Kenneth McGaw and Carol Steinbrecher. He was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel.
Phillip grew up and graduated from the Dassel Cokato School District.
He had been employed by Dahlman Seeds as a seed production employee for six years, and had recently started a new job with OHLY in Hutchinson.
Phillip enjoyed hanging out with his friends. He spent many hours on the lake fishing, whether it was on a boat or in an ice house. He could often be found lending a hand or enjoying dinner with his family.
He loved all animals, and had a special spot in his heart for his chihuahua, Mario. Phillip will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Carol of Dassel; brother, Alex (Danika Sitter) McGaw and their children, Ceanna Sitter, Taye McGaw, and Acacia McGaw, of Sherwood, OR; sister, Fabrianne (Michael) Schultz and their children, Koehn, Kenden, and Khetta Schultz of Dassel; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Phillip was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; a niece, Julia; and by a good friend, Warren G. Ulrich.
