Roger Carl Rusch, age 55, of Darwin, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at his home.
He was born Oct. 25, 1962, in Litchfield, the son of Carl and Lois (Heil) Rusch. Roger was baptized Nov. 18, 1962, and confirmed June 13, 1976, both at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
He graduated from Dassel-Cokato High School in 1980, and was united in marriage to Marjorie Koelln Sept. 22, 1990, in the First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield.
Roger was a business owner in Grove City and Cokato, operating Roger’s Grove City Liquor and Cokato Wine and Spirits.
He was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin.
Roger had a large garden and many fruit trees on his property; and could often be found singing along to classic rock and “old” country music. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, playing cards, organizing and playing mud volleyball, talking, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Darwin; children April (DeWaynn) Rogers of Grove City, Nicole Moser (partner Duane Mattila), Stephanie (Scott) Rech, all of Litchfield, Samantha Rusch (partner Steve Berscheid) of Kimball, and Makenzie Rusch of Darwin; 10 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; his mother, Lois Rusch of Litchfield; and sisters Shelley (Harold) Ehrreich of Hutchinson, and Patricia (Brian) Burdick of Darwin.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Carl Rusch; grandparents Helen and Ludwig Rusch, and Pauline and Louis Heil; uncle Haven Heil; aunts and uncles; and best friend, George Ring.
A funeral service took place Wednesday, March 21 at 11 a.m. at the All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was in All Saints Lutheran Cemetery, Darwin.
