Darlene A. Schroeder, age 85, of New Germany, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Auburn Home in Waconia.
She was born July 9, 1933, in Hollywood Township, Carver County, the daughter of August and Hilda (Rudloff) Noerenberg.
Darlene was baptized July 30, 1933; and confirmed March 30, 1947, at St. John Lutheran Church Hollywood Township, New Germany. Her confirmation verse was Romans 1:16.
She was united in marriage to Gordon Schroeder Aug. 30, 1950, at St. John’s Lutheran Church Hollywood Township, New Germany.
Darlene loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She liked to garden, bake, and play bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Schroeder; father and mother, August and Hilda Noerenberg; grandson Joseph Eggers; brothers Leonard, Mylo, and Larry Noerenberg; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Selma Schroeder; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret Noerenberg, Erlen Schroeder, and Doreen Stender.
Darlene is survived by her loving family: children and spouses: Lynette and Allen Menth of Waconia, Lucinda and Dennis Eggers of Norwood Young America, Lyle and Cindy Schroeder of Green Isle, and Lori and Gary Kubasch of New Germany; and grandchildren Tracy and Douglas Rolf, James and Lynette Eggers, Jeffrey and Michelle Eggers, Brian and Holly Eggers, Sara Utendorfer, Gabriel and Kim Schroeder, Laura and Adam Warhol, Nicholas Kubasch, and Chad and Tiffany Kubasch.
She is further survived by great-grandchildren Emily and Derek Rolf, Shayna and Benjamin Eggers, Alexa, Mikayla, Madelyn and Chloe Eggers, Hailey and Brinley Eggers, Allie Zimmer, Logan Jorgenson and special friend Julia Schwartz, Breea and Owen Utendorfer, Elias, Micah, and Jude Schroeder, Jack Warhol, and Collins Kubasch; sister and brother-in-law Carol and John Waetjen of Waconia; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Carol Noerenberg, Maureen Noerenberg, Mavis Schroeder, and Sheldon Stender, all of Mayer; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Darlene’s funeral service took place Saturday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany, with the Rev. LeRoy LaPlant officiating.
There was visitation at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment was in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Douglas Rolf, James Eggers, Jeffrey Eggers, Brian Eggers, Gabriel Schroeder, Adam Warhol, Nicholas Kubasch, and Chad Kubasch.
