Dorothy M. Stuhr, 79

Dorothy Maureen Stuhr, age 79, of Clearwater, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake, with visitation prior to the Mass, from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy School in Maple Lake; Fr. Steve Pawelk of Glenmary Missionaries, or Children of Zimbabwe – Carol McBrady.

Dorothy was born Feb. 6, 1939, to John and Marie Rogers, and grew up in Waverly.

She married Melvyn G. Stuhr, Jr. June 28, 1958. The couple raised five children in Maple Lake, where they lived until 2015, at which time they moved to Clearwater.

Dorothy worked as a probation officer for Wright County from 1971 until her retirement in 2000.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Rogers; brothers John “Jack”, and James Rogers; sister Margaret Kutz and her husband, Harvey; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Albertson; and a great-granddaughter, Adelaide Johnston.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Melvyn Stuhr, Jr. of Clearwater; children Aimee (Tim) Kittock of Maple Lake, Daniel (Betty Jo) of Montrose, Dennis (Dawn) of Buffalo, Annette (Joseph) Gunnerson of South Haven, and Alison (Todd) Totz of Maple Lake; a sister, Sister John Ellen Rogers, SJC of St. Paul; and sisters-in-law Patricia Rogers of Champlin, and Shirley Rogers of Hudson, WI.

She is further survived by 13 grandchildren: Rita “Katie” Kittock, Carter (Alyssa) Kittock, Keegan (Leslie Sawatzke) Kittock, Ashley (Amon) Johnston, Daniel Stuhr, Samantha (James Wilder) Stuhr, Kristi (Matt) Bermel, Chad (Alicia Buechler) Stuhr, Tyler (Kayla) Gunnerson, Whitney (Colton) Gettler, Dylan (Brittany Stroud) Gunnerson, Jessica (Mark) Pavlenko, and Travis (Jenna) Totz; 20 great-grandchildren: Christian, Tristan, and Killian McFarlane; Gemma and Finnigan Kittock; Xavier Aspinal, Jayden, Piper Kennedy, and Emmerson Albertson; Logan, Camden and Norah Bermel; Kayden Stuhr, Scarlett Gettler, Ryland, Huxley, and Hudson Gunnerson, and Ethan and Collin Pavlenko; and many nieces and nephews.
