Earl H. Tesch, 87

Earl H. Tesch, age 87, of Watertown, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Westwood Place in Watertown.

His funeral service will be Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Watertown, with the Rev. Dan Osborn officiating. Interment will be at the Mayer United Cemetery in Mayer. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.

Casket bearers are Todd Brotkowski, Mark Brotkowski, Kyle Brotkowski, Jamie Brotkowski, Lindsey Brotkowski, and Kylie Brotkowski.

Earl was born June 24, 1930, in Hollywood Township, the son of Harris and Gertrude (Gongoll) Tesch. He was baptized Nov. 13, 1930, by the Rev. E.M. Bauer; and confirmed in the faith at the Evangelical United Bretheren Church by Rev. Buller.

Earl was united in marriage to Ione Brotkowski Dec. 8, 1967, in Watertown, SD.

Earl loved to garden along with his wife until her health began to fail. He enjoyed feeding and watching different birds, as did his wife.

Earl was an avid bowler, at which he was pretty good. He also could throw a mean game of horseshoes. Earl played piano for relaxation, and could play many of the old hymns by heart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ione Brotkowski; son Roger Brotkowski; parents Harris and Gertrude Tesch; mother-in-law and father-in-law Hans and Cora Olson; brother and sister-in-law Edmund and Hazel Burns; sisters Marilyn Anderson, Marion Schwartz, and infant sister Lorraine Tesch; sister-in-law Ardis Adams; and brothers-in-law LaVern Olson, and Eugene Olson.

Earl is survived by his loving family: daughter-in-law Mary Brotkowski of Elk River; grandchildren Todd (Kim) Brotkowski, and Mark (Michelle) Brotkowski; great-grandchildren Kyle Brotkowski, Jamie Brotkowski, Lindsey Brotkowski, and Kylie Brotkowski; brother John (Judy) Tesch of New Lisbon, WI; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
