Marjorie “Marge” Jean Tesch, age 86, of Howard Lake, died in her sleep Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Home of Howard Lake.
Her funeral service will be Friday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church of Howard Lake, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.

Marge was born April 29, 1932, in St. James, MN, and grew up on a farm near Butterfield.
She was baptized, confirmed, and married at the First Lutheran Church in Butterfield, and graduated from high school there. She also studied at St. Olaf College, and the Minnesota School of Art.
Marge married James “Jim” Tesch March 14, 1954. They began their life together in Watertown, then moved to Mayer for 12 years, and finally ended up in Howard Lake in 1967.
An active member at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, Marge served several years as church secretary. She was artistically talented and did classroom murals and stitched hardanger for the communion altar, as well as sewing many quilts with the quilting club. Marge loved and served the Lord Jesus Christ all her life at home with family, and in church.
She had also worked as a dental assistant for the late Dr Elmer Thiesee in the 1970s and ‘80s.
Marge is survived by her husband, James; son Douglas Tesch; daughter Jeanne (Gary) Theobald; and son Brian (Sheri) Tesch; granddaughters Stacie Constantian, Stephanie (Aaron) Broughton, and Courtney Tesch; grandson Nathan Tesch; and great-grandchildren Sylvie and Ladd Broughton.
She is further survived by five brothers: Marland, Chuck (Polly), Howard (Ellen), DuWayne (Angie), and Claire (Rae) Madson; as well as many nephews, nieces, and sisters and brothers-in-law.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Linnea (Warling) Madson of Butterfield.
She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
