Richard Donald Vanderlinde, age 51, of Watertown, was found deceased Aug. 31, 2018, at his home in Watertown. He died peacefully from complications of heart issues and diabetes.
There will be a memorial gathering of family and friends beginning at noon Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Watertown Rod and Gun Club (13840 CR 122) in Watertown. A service will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Richie’s daughter, Alice Vanderlinde, c/o PO Box 223, Maple Plain, MN 55359.
Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
Richard was born May 3, 1967, in Waconia, the son of Edmund and Marcella (Wickenhauser) Vanderlinde.
He was a graduate of the Watertown High School.
Richie had his own lawn care and snow plowing business, which he enjoyed for over 30 years.
Richie enjoyed working, the outdoors, fishing, and scrapping. He had a love for buffets and beers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Marcella Vanderlinde; brother Thomas Vanderlinde; sister Ann Vanderlinde; and brothers-in-law Jim Bauer and Tim Johnson.
Richie is survived by his loving family: daughter Alice Vanderlinde of Maple Plain; sisters and brothers, Betty (Greg) Erhard of Olathe, KS, Judy (Jim) Storms of Cologne, Frances Vanderlinde of Watertown, Mary (Bruce) Schepers of Savage, Leon (Heidi) Vanderlinde, Bea Bauer, all of Watertown; Jerry Vanderlinde of Lake Bronson, Theresa Johnson of Watertown, Dan (Dorine) Vanderlinde of Mayer, and Janet (Chad) Banken of Minnetonka; 20 nieces and nephews; aunts Luella Griebel of Sleepy Eye, Clarissa Wickenhauser of Waconia, Muriel Wickenhauser of Waconia, Harriet Vanderlinde of St. Bonifacius, and Rosemary Vanderlinde of Watertown; other relatives and many friends.
