Peggy A. Zimmerman-Belbeck, age 60, of Delano, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018.
Peg was employed by the health insurance industry for over 30 years, ending her career as executive director of the MN Comprehensive Health Association. At MCHA, she helped thousands of people obtain health care, and protected families from bankruptcy.
Peg was a strong advocate for universal health care, an empathic voice for people in need, and a health care resource for the Minnesota State Legislature.
She was a Master Gardener, who created stunning flower and vegetable gardens; a quilter, prize-winning photographer, world traveler, and viticulturist. She was also her husband, Bob’s best friend, lover, confidant and aircraft copilot.
Peg graced the lives of many people, who are in awe of the courage and humor she exhibited during her long months of illness.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Belbeck; sisters Mary and Jane; brother John; nieces and nephews; her dogs, CD and Buster; and parrot, Calypso.
Peg will be missed deeply.
Memorials may be sent to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
The Iten Funeral Home of Delano handled the arrangements.
