Marlyce A. Dorff, 86, of Coon Rapids, passed away peacefully, July 24, 2019.
She was born on a farm in Dassel, and graduated from St Cloud State University with a degree in business education.
After college, she taught for a year in Milaca before moving to the registrar’s office at Hamline University. Following a 15-year tenure at Hamline, she taught business education at Coon Rapids High School for over 20 years before retiring.
Marlyce was involved in numerous organizations including Faith Lutheran Church of Coon Rapids, P.E.O., Philolectians, Red Hat Society, and book clubs. She had a lifelong passion for travel and learning, as well as other hobbies such as hiking, gardening, and theater volunteering.
Marlyce touched the lives of a wide variety of people and will be missed by friends and family alike.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albin and Hilma Settergren; and an infant daughter.
Marlyce is survived by a son, Scott (Jennifer); daughters Stacy (Daryl) Randall, and Stephanie (Craig) Libis; six grandchildren: Ross (Alexa), Reid, Connor, Weller, Addison, and Cooper; a brother, Vince (Ramona); and a sister, Karen (Ron).
A memorial service took place Saturday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church of Coon Rapids, with visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be sent to JA Wedum Hospice in Brooklyn Park.
