Sandy M. Griebel, age 60, of Delano, formerly of Motley, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
She was born Dec. 4, 1958, in Fargo, ND, to Ray and Evelyn (Hales) Lucas.
She grew up in Fargo and moved to Motley, graduating from Motley High School.
Sandy was united in marriage to Jim Griebel Jan. 21, 1978, in Philbrook, MN. The couple made their home in Delano, and raised three sons.
Sandy made a career of caring for children in her home daycare. She loved spending time with her family, especially those grand babies.
She was also an active community volunteer in the Delano area. Sandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Evelyn Lucas; and brothers Raymond Lucas, and Dennis Lucas.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Jim; sons Tony (Amanda) Griebel, Matt (Megan) Griebel, and Josh Griebel; grandchildren Abel, Piper, Walter and Clarence; siblings Ed (Hope) Lucas, Carol (Richard) Edgerly, and Linda Lucas; and sister-in-law Nancy Lucas.
Funeral services took place Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 11 a.m. at Motley Free Methodist Church in Motley, MN. Interment was in the Motley Public Cemetery.
There was visitation Monday, Aug. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, continuing Tuesday at the church from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the services.
Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
