Rose Marie Grossman, age 99, of Baxter, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at Haven Homes of Maple Plain.
Memorial services will take place Saturday, Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Lyndale Lutheran Church, 8012 Hennepin County Road 6 in Lyndale. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church, prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.
Arrangements are with Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
Rose was born Dec. 11, 1919, in Staples Township, Minnesota, to Raymond and Mary (Holderbach) Edwards.
She graduated from Staples High School.
Rose was united in marriage to Ernest Albert Grossman Nov. 20, 1941, in Staples.
Rose enjoyed a number of hobbies including tending to her garden and sewing, and was an exceptional cook. She was known for distributing her baked goodies to the neighbors.
Gifted musically, she especially loved to play piano and the guitar.
Rose was active in her church and Bible study groups at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Ernest; sons-in-law Doug Harris, and Jeff Utes; daughter-in-law Carol Grossman; granddaughter Aubrey Harris; and brothers Eugene Edwards and Donald Edwards.
Rose is survived by her children: Eugene and partner Mary Ann, Judy Harris, and Deb Smith-Utes; as well as many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
