Cecilia H. Heitz, 101

Cecilia Helen (Reus) Heitz, age 101, of Maple Plain, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at the Waconia Good Samaritan Center.

Cecilia was born June 4, 1918, in Victoria, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Diethelm) Reus.

She was united in marriage with Arthur J. Heitz Sept. 26, 1939, at St. Victoria Catholic Church in Victoria.

Cecilia grew up in Victoria, and loved living with her husband and family on the farm in rural Maple Plain.

She was very proud of her 35 years at Tonka Toys, which was from the company’s beginning to its end.

Cecilia spoiled her grandchildren and loved to bake cookies for them. She enjoyed playing bingo, scratch offs, and cards.

A devoted member of her church, Cecilia prayed the rosary daily. She’ll be remembered for her beautiful, loving, sweet and caring personality.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Heitz; parents Joseph and Anna Reus; grandson Kyle Stubbs; great-granddaughter Samantha Stubbs; son-in-law Dean Stubbs; Russ Wildermuth; sisters Rosemary Timmers, Margaret (Alphonse) Schmieg; brother Francis (Teresa) Reus; father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Cecelia Heitz; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her loving family: children Julianne Heitz, Janet Stubbs, Judith (Everett) Johnson, all of Waconia, and June (Rene’) Schrupp of St. Bonifacius; grandchildren Scott (Sarah) Stubbs, Curt (Shelly) Stubbs, Pamela (Eric) Vogt, Jeff Johnson, Jenny (Mike) Braun, Tamie (Darel) Harrison, Roberta (Shawn) Gothmann, Dustin (fiancée Jessica Stieve) Schrupp, and Suzie (Tony) Stubbs Noor; great-grandchildren Garrett, Cody, Crystale, Casy, Mirandah, Alexis, Morgan, Alyssa, Taylor, Tyson, Kylee, Sierra, Lindsey, Noah, Trey, Kyle, Dylan, Ella, Mackenzie, Jacky, Katie, and Olivia; great-great-grandchildren Thomas, Beau, Everleigh, Brielle, and Wesley; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mound, with Father Tony O’Neil as celebrant of the Mass. There was visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church.

Cecilia’s grandchildren served as casket bearers.
