Alfred Jantschik, age 84, of Winsted, passed away from heart surgery complications Friday, Nov. 8, 2019.
Alfred, at the age of 16 in 1952, along with his mother, younger sister and brother, immigrated from Germany to the United States. They made their home in Winsted.
Alfred supported the family during his growing up years. He worked at Millerbernds, and retired after 38 years.
Al was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking projects for the grade schoolers at Holy Trinity.
He is survived by his brother John (Rosemary); nieces, Kris Kemper and Jessica Thielen; and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, with Father Michael Doyle as the celebrant. Inurnment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
There was a time of gathering place Thursday, at the church, one hour prior to Mass.
