Helen L. Kivi, 84

Helen Louise Kivi, age 84, of Litchfield, formerly of Dassel and Cokato, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at her home.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, March 9 at 2 p.m. at the Church of St. John in Darwin, with visitation at the church two hours prior to the service.

Helen was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Grafton, ND, the daughter of Edward and Myrtle (White) LeQuire. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1953.

Helen was united in marriage to Russell Kivi Aug. 28, 1954, in Grafton, ND. Through the years, the couple lived in Bismarck, Grafton, Cokato, Marshall, and Dassel.

Helen was a devout member of the Church of St. John.

She enjoyed traveling with Russell, and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend.

Her hobbies were reading, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards and bingo. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her children: Terah Kivi of Longmont, CO; Kelly (Tom) Berreau of Robbinsdale, Mary (Doug) Desens of Litchfield, Shelly (Clint) Christians of Watkins, and Marc Kivi (Lynn Jeys) of Big Lake; grandchildren: Haakon and Asa Anderson, Danielle (Spencer) Johnson, Travis (Rhiannon) Pankake, Andrew and Alexa Desens, and Kendra and Lukas Christians; and great-grandchildren Ayva, Lola, Bela, and William Pankake, Gracie and Avery Johnson, and Caroline Desens.

She is further survived by sisters Betty Machart, Shirley Langer, Bev Bolduc and Mary Hewitt; brothers-in-law Kenny (Mary) Kivi of Minneapolis, LeRoy Kivi of South Haven, Gordy Kivi of Madison Lake, and Jerry (Deanna) Kivi of Eagan; and sister-in-law Jeanette Kivi of Minneapolis.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Myrtle; husband, Russell; great-grandson Erik Anderson; brothers Louie LeQuire, John LeQuire, Gene LeQuire, Lloyd LeQuire, Tommy LeQuire and Jimmy LeQuire; brothers-in-law Phil and John; and sisters-in-law Mary Jane, Ruth, Lorraine, and Carol Jean.
