Patricia R. Lenz Obituary – 1/26/2019


Patricia Rose Lenz, age 95, of Winsted, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 26, 2019, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

She was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Waverly, the daughter of Edward and Rose (Nolan) Burke.

Pat graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Waverly in 1941, and later attended the Minnesota School of Business.

Patricia and Harold C. Lenz were joined in holy marriage Nov. 22, 1947, in Minneapolis. God blessed their marriage with two children, Gary and Margaret (“Peggy”).

Pat was formerly employed for more than 35 years at Sterner Lighting, and at Sterner Industries as a bookkeeper.

She enjoyed dancing, sewing, playing the piano and organ, and decorating her home. Pat was happy all the time!

She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Pat is survived by her loving children: Gary (Jody) Lenz, and Margaret “Peggy” Lenz, all of Winsted; grandchildren Sara Lynn (Clayton) Norman, and Mariah Rose Lenz; great-grandchildren Emma Jo Norman, and Cade Harold Norman; a sister-in-law, Irma Jaekel of Saratoga Springs, NY; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Lenz, in 1993; her parents; and by a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Olsen.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with Father Tony Stubeda as the celebrant. Lavon Kielkucki was the organist. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

There was visitation Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a CCW rosary recited at 4:15 p.m., and parish prayers at 4:30 p.m. Visitation continued Thursday morning, one hour prior to Mass at the church.

Casket bearers were Bruce and Don Olsen, Ryan Wiemiller, and Bob, Duane and Don Bodin.

Bob Olsen, Mariah Rose Lenz, and Sara Lynn Norman were honorary casket bearers.
