Duane J. “Dewey” MacQueen, age 83, of Watertown, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, May 4 at 1 p.m. in the Community Room of the Hamburg City Hall, 181 Broadway Ave, Hamburg. Inurnment will take place June 15 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck, ND.
Arrangements are with the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
Duane was born June 17, 1935, in Hankinson, ND, to Stanley and Veronica (Scheller) MacQueen.
Dewey served in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged.
He was a resident of Watertown for 35 years, and a member of the Eugene Earley American Legion Post #121.
Dewey was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert MacQueen; a sister, Gail Hansen; and brothers-in-law Robert Sundby and John Hoffman.
He is survived by his sisters, Diane Hoffman (spouse Willy Fuellner), and Pat (Donald) Schwinden; brother-in-law Thomas Hansen; personal caregiver and nephew, Shawn Halbert; and was “Uncle Butter” to many other nieces, nephews and their families.
