Dennis (Hick) Wayne Oslowski, age 71, of McGrath, formerly of Delano, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Sunday, July 7, 2019, after a long and hard-fought battle with prostate cancer.
Funeral services will take place Monday, July 15 at 10 a.m. at Isle Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Kerry Johnston officiating. Interment will be at Camp Ripley, Little Falls.
Arrangements are with Mille Lacs Funeral and Cremation Services, Isle, MN.
Dennis was born Jan. 11, 1948, in Watertown, to Lee and Viola Oslowski.
He graduated from Delano High School, and then was drafted into the US Army, serving mostly in Germany.
Dennis had a tremendous work ethic, doing many different jobs. Some highlights were a maintenance supervisor job for Litton Microwaves, and being a telephone installation service manager for USEB (United States Equipment Brokers) for many years.
His main vocation was carpentry, and he worked as a licensed independent contractor for the last 15 years before retirement.
Dennis played fast pitch and modified softball for Delano and surrounding towns. He also worked as an umpire for the ASA for five years. He was a member of the Delano Bowling League, bowling the first 60 series in the new bowling alley.
He loved the outdoors and wildlife, hunting, fishing, gardening, and his sports teams including the Wild, Twins, Vikings, and the Isle Huskies, watching his boys play.
Dennis loved caring for the many animals at H&H Goat Haven farm for the last 13 years. He was active with his church and helped with the AWANA program for many years. Dennis truly loved all of the children he worked with.
A man of his word, honest, and having integrity, Dennis always prayed for his country and the military. Above all, he loved his family and took in other children as his own.
Dennis is now reunited with his parents, Lee and Viola Oslowski; his sister, Peggy Kolasa; and his stepson, Tronn Paulsen.
He leaves behind his wife, Helena Oslowski; sons Aaron and Hunter Oslowski, daughter Tash (Jesse) Laudenbach; stepson Ryan (Charissa) Yollen; three grandchildren: Laney, Jadde, and Alex; his siblings, Donny (Brenda) Oslowski, Lee (Arlene) Oslowski, Gail Loeffler, and Gary (Cathy) O’Borsky; other relatives, and his church family.
Dennis (Hick), you will be missed beyond words and we look forward to the day we meet again.
