Frederic (“Freddy”) Henry Reimer, age 78, of Montrose, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019, at his home.
He was born Nov. 29, 1940, in Waverly, to Frederic Anthony and Lorraine (Mahlstedt) Reimer. Frederic grew up on the family farm in Howard Lake.
He proudly served the Wright County Sheriff’s Department for over 50 years; from 1964, initially on the Reserve Unit, until he retired for the final time in 2016, in the Civil Park Patrol Unit. He also worked for the Buffalo Block Company, and later, Anchor Block Company.
Frederic enjoyed wood working, family ancestry, and feeding his birds. He was very active in his church.
He is survived by his children: John (Son Hui) Reimer, Julie (Randy) Latzig, Jody (Jim) Churchill, Jennifer (Rob) Bliven, and Jeff (Charlotte) Reimer; step children, Lori Schmidt, Rick Anderson, and Lisa Anderson; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Frederic was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marie; brother Phillip Reimer; and sister Linda Zabel.
Frederic’s funeral service took place Wednesday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Maple Lake, with visitation one hour prior to the service at church.
There was also visitation Tuesday, July 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake, with a 7 p.m. prayer service .
