Marvin “Whitey” James Robertson, age 89, of Howard Lake, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Center.
A gathering of friends and relatives will take place Friday, Oct. 25 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Howard Lake Legion, with military honors provided at 2 p.m. by the Honor Guard of the Howard Lake Legion Post 145.
Marvin was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Askov, MN, to James and Christine (Hansen) Robertson. He grew up in Minneapolis.
“Whitey” served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1953. After military service, he did custodial work, most recently at Jefferson Grade School, until retirement.
Whitey married Jacquline Espe Dec. 15, 1956. The couple made their home in the Phillips Neighborhood of Minneapolis, then moved to Howard Lake in 1987 to retire.
Whitey enjoyed wood working and fishing, spending time with friends, and visiting with people at his favorite spot, the Howard Lake Legion.
