Marvin Scheuble, 96

Marvin Henry Scheuble, age 96, of Montrose, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019.

He was born May 19, 1923, in Waconia, the son of Alfred G. and Elizabeth (Vossen) Scheuble.

Marvin and Ellen Babatz were joined in holy marriage June 6, 1944, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. God blessed their marriage with 11 children.

Marvin owned and operated M. Scheuble Trucking for many years. He also drove school bus for District #877 for 32 years.

A faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, Marvin had served longtime as an usher.

He was a former 30-year member of he Montrose Fire Department, and formerly served as a member of the Wright County Sheriff Reserve.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Ellen Scheuble; children Rick (Shirley) Scheuble of Outing, Judy DeMars of Buffalo, Peggy (Dewey) Cardinal of Montrose, Darlene (Ron) Otto of Winsted, Renee (Dave) Hausladen of Montrose, Jan (Mike) Rasset of Montrose, Gary (Susan Brannan) Scheuble of Montrose, Debbie (Steve) Loebertmann of Buffalo, RoseMary (Jim) Woitalla of Annandale, and Lori (Tom) Stifter of Mayer; 29 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Norma Babatz of Spring Park; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Melvin J. Scheuble, killed in action in Vietnam July 2, 1968; a son-in-law, Vince DeMars; grandson, Lucas Rasset; his parents; a sister, Dorothy Scheuble; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Mary Babatz; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Margaret (Tom) Salonek, Bill (Mae) Babatz Sr., Mary (Charlie) Motzko, Agnes (Joe Pollock) (Del Pfeifer), Florence (Ervin) Cardinal, and John “Jack” Babatz.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marvin Scheuble took place Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Church of St. Mary in Waverly, with Father Kenneth O’Hotto as the celebrant. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation took place at the church Monday, Sept. 30 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continued Tuesday at the church from 9 until 10:15 a.m.

Grandsons Alan Scheuble, Chris DeMars, Jason Cardinal, Greg Otto, Cory Hausladen, and Jacob Rasset served as pallbearers.
