Jeffrey A. Smith, 56

Jeffrey Alan Smith, age 56, of Florida, formerly of Watertown, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2019.

He was born Aug. 15, 1962, in Watertown, MN, to Bonnie Lou Schmidt and Harold Smith,

Jeff’s love of travel and adventure directed much of his life. He was most at home in the outdoors, as a boy from Minnesota to his later years hiking, snowmobiling, and dirt-biking in the Teton mountains.

He was a graduate of Delano High School.

Jeff’s love of travel inspired his 30-year career as a pilot, which was his childhood dream. He made his first flight at the age of 16.

Jeff made many memories exploring countless cities in Europe and South America with his beloved wife and soulmate, Ceci, who he met in 1996, and later married. There was little remaining on their bucket list together.

The most important complement to their lives was their son, Colin, who brought much joy and fulfillment.

Jeff will forever be the soul of their family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ceci; son Colin; brother- and sister-in-law Kevin and Kathy Smith; sister-in-law Yvette and Giro Pezzella; brother-in-law Alex Aguera; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Briana; brother Brian; and parents Bonnie Lou and Harold.

A devoted and loving husband to Ceci for 25 years, and father to Colin for 14 years, Jeff will be dearly missed and remembered by the countless friends and family who loved him and were inspired by his life, his wit, and his esteemed character.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, Aug. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Davie, FL.

Arrangements were with T.M. Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass/Weston, in Sunrise, FL.
