Kathy was born Aug. 6, 1955, in Minneapolis, to Marvin and Ida Mae (Arnhold) Haugen.
She attended Cooper High School and graduated with the class of 1973.
Kathy was joined in holy marriage to James Trombley Oct. 27, 1979, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Minnetonka. Together, they raised three children.
Kathy enjoyed taking the family on camping trips, often spending weeks away from home exploring what the wilderness had to offer. She liked exploring new cities and would take in all the history of the area.
Kathy was incredibly artistic and would create cards with her stamps for all occasions. She liked to personalize cards for people, and would put a lot of thought into making each one special; whether it was for a birthday, graduation, or holiday, she made them truly unique to the person she was gifting them to.
Kathy could spark a conversation with just about anybody. Her warm, calming demeanor naturally made people feel comfortable around her, and she could make friends with anyone.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jim, of Montrose; children, Joseph (Erin) of Winona, Peter (Meghan) of Montrose, and Mary (Justin) Olsen of Cokato; grandchildren, Emma, Carter, Will, and Jack; mother, Ida Mae Haugen; brother, Tom (Gail); sister, Carol; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
