Anna Mae “Pat” Vanderlinde, age 93, of St. Bonifacius, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at Nagel Assisted Living in Waconia.
She was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Dahlgren Township of Carver County, the daughter of Anton and Louisa (Siegel) Hesse. Anna Mae was baptized and confirmed at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska.
She graduated from Guardian Angels Catholic High School.
Anna Mae was united in marriage with George M. Vanderlinde Aug. 20, 1946, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church.
A giving, gentle, caring, and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Anna Mae was a hardworking farm wife, helping milk cows and do farm chores for most of her life.
She and George had a strong faith in God, and they inspired that in their children. Anna Mae said the Rosary every night at 8:30 p.m., and every priest coming to St. Boniface would quickly learn to count on seeing the family all in “their” pew every Sunday.
Anna Mae also had a great love and talent for gardening, canning, raising her nine children, and making everyone feel right at home. She always shared from whatever she had. Her kitchen was always open, and you never left her home without something in hand.
With 26 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren, Anna Mae still loved to treat each of them with their favorite food. She made everyone feel special and important in their own special way.
