Kenneth John Waddell, age 51, of Plymouth, went home peacefully to the Lord Sunday, July 7, 2019. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones after having suffered a stroke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Delano, with Father Kevin Magner presiding. There will be visitation at the church two hours prior to the Mass, from 9 to 11 a.m. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Ken was born Jan. 26, 1968, in Golden Valley. He graduated from Delano High School in 1986.
He was a self-proclaimed master “barb-equer,” prolific macaroni and cheese connoisseur, and home Jeopardy genius. Ken enjoyed fishing in his ‘Kenyak’ (kayak) at Parker’s Lake. He also enjoyed rocking out to his favorite band, ACDC, and was forever grateful for the memories he shared with his lifelong friends in low places (the Losers Bar). He was particularly proud of winning the 2003 “Loser of the Year” award.
Ken’s gift from God was his ability to create and share laughter everywhere he went, which flowed from his loving heart. He also was a very kind person, and everyone felt safe and loved in his presence.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Kenneth Waddell.
Ken is survived by his loving family: son Nathan and Grace Waddell; mother Judy (Franzen) Waddell; sisters Kim Curtis, Kelly Higgins, and Kari (Joe) Kvasnicka; nieces and nephews Brandon Curtis, Jack, Piper, and Izabel Kvasnicka, William and Abigail Higgins, as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles, and dear friends.
