Alberta Fiecke, 91

Alberta A. Fiecke, age 91, of Watkins, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at the Koronis Manor Care Center in Paynesville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins, with interment in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.

Fr. Aaron Nett will officiate. Music will be by Kathy Pauls.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins, with a Rosary at 3:45 p.m., followed immediately by parish prayers.

Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church Friday.

Alberta Fiecke was born Oct. 24, 1928, in Winsted, the daughter of Albert and Celestine (Dols) Fasching.

Alberta grew up and received her education in Winsted.

Alberta was united in marriage Oct. 4, 1952, to Virgil Fiecke at Holy Trinity Church in Winsted. They farmed at Silver Lake prior to moving to Watkins in 1969, where they farmed until retiring in 1993.

Alberta was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and had been active with the Council of Catholic Women. She did volunteer work with the church and community.

Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, and playing cards. She enjoyed artwork, and spending time with her family.

Alberta is survived by her children, James (Doris) Fiecke of Paynesville, Terry (Dan) Molitor of Waite Park, Mary Lahr of Harwood, ND, Steven (Kathy) Fiecke of Winsted, Kathy (Dan) Auka of Harwood, ND; daughter-in-law, Mel (Randy) Ekensteen of Ham Lake; 18 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; brothers, LeRoy, Marcel, Harold, and Louis Fasching; sister, Elaine Marshall; sister-in-law, Shirley Fiecke; and numerous other relatives.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil; and son, Gerald; brothers and sisters, Lucile, Geraldine, Marion, Virgil, and Melvin; and other relatives.
