Karen Ann Foede, age 69, of Two Harbors, formerly of Delano and Waverly, passed away peacefully, Friday, Aug. 14, 2020, in Two Harbors, MN.
Karen was born Aug. 4, 1951, to Joe and Mary Reardon. She was raised in Waverly, MN, where much of her family and friends still reside, or are resting in peace.
In her youth, she rode motorcycles and enjoyed getting into trouble with her sister, cousins, and friends.
She lived in Delano, MN, for many years, and worked as a nurse in Winsted, dedicating her career to caring for the elderly.
She later found her home on the North Shore, and settled in her “little house in the woods.” She continued to care for the elderly at the Sunrise Nursing Home in Two Harbors.
Karen was married Nov. 1, 1985, to the love of her life and best friend, George Foede. For the past 30 years, they have created and shared many memories in their forever home, on the North Shore.
Karen loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored and doted on every chance she got. She loved fishing, hunting, camping, reading books, cooking, watching anything that had Gordon Ramsey, and on more than one occasion, a nice glass of wine;)
Karen Ann Foede will be forever remembered as having a kind, generous spirit who welcomed everyone into her home, and would give what she had to those who needed it.
She will be loved forever by her sister, Cindy (Wayne) Boman; son, Skip Joseph (Becky) Johnson; daughter, Shannon Lee (Nabeel) Johnson-Benalshaikh; step-daughters, Beth Werkman (Foede), Paula Foede; nephews, Bryce, Bryan, and Evan Boman; grandchildren, Brittany Johnson, Jehnah, Mahdi, and Shakura Benalshaikh, Rachel Werkman, Amanda, and Ellen Lerbakken, and Amanda, Kathleen, and Kimberly Rolfzen; great-grandchildren, Odin, and Kylie Starkey, Neveah Rolfzen, Braxton Cochran; best friend, Betty Miller; and many more extended family; and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Reardon (Rauschendorfer 2008); father, Joseph Reardon (2017); great-granddaughter, Haven Starkey (2010); and dearest friend, Ruth Cameron.
A memorial open house will take place Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at their home; 2673 Hwy. 2, Two Harbors, MN, from 12 to 6 p.m.
