Edward Dale Groff, age 81, of Winsted, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, at The Gardens of Winsted.
He was born July 16, 1939, in Minneapolis.
Ed graduated from Minneapolis Vocational High School and was a star athlete. He also was involved in Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament.
Ed was the former proprietor of a Clark Service Station off of Lake Street in Minneapolis. He later moved to Watertown, MN.
Ed is survived by three children: Julie Ann (Sherry) Suhosky of New Mexico, Lynn (Brian) Magnuson of Lindstrom, MN, and David Groff (Angela Jakobitz) of Lester Prairie; two grandsons: Logan David Groff and Landon Edward Groff; other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Gaylen Groff, a sister, Arlene Erickson; and by his former wife, Kathleen.
A memorial service for Edward Groff took place Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 4 p.m. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. Reverend Dr. Tom Rakow officiated, with visitation one hour before at the funeral home.
