Gerald A. Hausladen, age 80, of Winsted, passed away at the Annandale Nursing Home Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020.
He was born Oct. 26, 1940, in Winsted Township, the fourth child of Carl and Rosella (Millerbernd) Hausladen.
Gerald graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1958. He served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962 in the 1st battalion, 77th Armor, 1st Infantry division, as a 5-ton heavy truck driver during the Cuban Invasion.
Gerald was a 55-year member of the Sprinkler Fitters Union Local 669. He donated the Columbarium to the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Gerald enjoyed travel, fishing, tractor pulls, the Winsted Wildcats, and being the favorite uncle of his nieces and nephews. He entered the Annandale Nursing Home Feb 18, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Josephine (Kelter) Hausladen, and Joseph B. and Rosalia (Fasching) Millerbernd; his parents, Carl and Rosella (Millerbernd) Hausladen; and his two brothers, Ronald and wife, Alma (Weber) Hausladen, and Bernard (Bill) Hausladen; brother-in-law, Austin Otto, and great nephew, infant Craig Gorres Jr.
Gerald is survived by his brother, David (Joan) Hausladen of Annandale; and sisters, Mariann Otto of Lester Prairie, Germaine (Francis) Schommer of Winsted, and Janet (Ralph) Millerbernd of Winsted.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
