Audrey Ide, 96

Audrey Ide, age 96, of Lester Prairie, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe.

A funeral service will take place Friday, February 7, 2020, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with interment following at the church cemetery.

Clergy officiating will be Pastor Eric Nelson, organist will be Jane Holasek, and soloist will Linnea Bullert, who will sing “In The Garden” and “The Lord Is My Shepherd.” Congregational hymns include “Abide With Me” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Casket bearers are Beth Ann Schmidt, Nathan Ide, Jason Ide, Lindsay Jabas, Caleb Schmidt, Colton Schmidt, Phillip Ide, and Michael Ide.

Visitation took place Thursday, Feb. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie, and continued one hour prior the service at the church Friday.

Audrey Mary Minnie (Smith) Ide was born April 7, 1923, in Hamburg. She was the daughter of James and Helena (Scheele) Smith.

She was baptized as an infant April 22, 1923, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth March 21, 1937, both by Rev. H. Bauman at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg. Audrey received her education in Hamburg, attending District 40 School through the eighth grade.

Audrey was united in marriage to Dennis Ide July 30, 1944, by Rev. L. Wohlfeil at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg. Audrey and Dennis made their home in Lester Prairie. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Larry, Gerald, and Keith. Audrey and Dennis shared more than 60 years of marriage until Dennis passed away Nov. 29, 2004.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, Audrey worked at the Winsted Canning Factory in Winsted, Tonka Toys in Mound, and cleaned homes for other families.

She was an active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. As her ministry to the church, she proudly served on the LWML. Audrey was also a past member of the Lester Prairie American Legion Auxiliary Post 463.

Audrey held her church and faith very close to her heart.

She enjoyed canning and her flower gardens, especially her red peonies. Audrey treasured the time spent with her family and friends.

Audrey is survived by her:sons, Larry Ide and his wife, Bertha, of Lester Prairie; Gerald Ide of Lester Prairie; Keith Ide and his wife, Judy, of Winsted; grandchildren, Beth Ann Schmidt and her husband, Thomas; Nathan Ide; Jason Ide and his fiancée, Veronica; Lindsay Jabas and her husband, Ryan; great-grandchildren, Caleb Schmidt and his fiancée, Alyssa; Colton Schmidt, Phillip Ide, Michael Ide, Aiden Ide, Taydem Ide, Skylar Ide, Korbin Jabas, Kinley Jabas; sisters-in-law, Edna Ide, Dorothy Ide; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helena Smith; husband, Dennis Ide; sister, Vida Given and her husband, Robert; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwald and Alma Ide; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Hillard Ide, Vernon Ide, Verdella Bullert and her husband, Harold.
